Hey there, Trapapa, thanks for your post - we'll be happy to give you some guidance on this. I doubt the rest of the specs can be of any help, everything works fine exept the damn audio. 16Gb 1200Mhz (G.Skill dual channel, using XMP) I used to play this game back in 2008 i think, on a much older computer, and never had this problem before, so i "suppose" the culprit might be recent hardware not recognised by the game sound engine, or something like that. I did try some of the fixes proposed in those results but with no luck. I dont play MP and most of the results i find on Gooogle is about the infamous "gun loop" or "audio loop" experienced in MP. Maybe if i find the "designation" for this config i could add the soundcard to it? I do wonder if the sound card isnt recognised by the game or something similar, because seeing "NO_OPTIMISATION_SOUND_CARDS=SigmaTel Audio SoundMAX HD Audio" in the "DARE.ini" file does make me wonder. I have a Asus XONAR DSX and all my audio goes trough it. During gameplay, reload, walking/running, getting shot at, shooting, or mission updates by narration is just absent. I even disabled the music in hope it might help with absent channels, but with no luckįor some reason, its as if some sound channels stop working or responding. I even changed the "NB_AUDIBLE_VOICES=32" to 64 Changed in "Dare.ini" "DISABLE_OPTIMISATION=FALSE" to "DISABLE_OPTIMISATION=TRUE" Disabled Voice recognition in the game (even though its pretty cool with its limited "sound bank" Patched the eax.dll file in binaries using a file provided on pcgamingwiki. I edited in "kellergame/config/PCKellerGame.ini" the sound channels to enable 64 rather than 32. I've been searching on the net for hours now trying to figure out my problem but can't find a viable solution, Steam Community, you are indeed, my only hope:
